Our 2018 YouMatter Project in Duluth was awarded the Most Outstanding Student Relations Project for 2018 out of all the student councils in the state of Georgia! It was also one of the most competitive awards that other councils applied for. A huge feat for our Council, inspiring us to think of more and strive for better!
YouMatter Week 2018 was February 26th through March 2nd! The council emphasized its message of inclusiveness and belonging through the YouMatter sticky note wall which students and staff could write a sticky note and post in on the two pillars in the cafeteria to underline their appreciation for that person. We also sold our YouMatter white on black bracelets (2 for $1) so that people can easily share their appreciation for others. The week also included several themes such as High-Five Friday, Make a Friend Monday, and such. We hope to spread this project as the years continue and make an even greater impact at our school.
